My rear leaf springs are pretty flat (Got a Leer cap). I wanted to see if I could get them rearched. Anyone know of a shop in SLC area that will do this?

Thanks.

Yes, AAA spring. Take the 3300S exit, head west hang a right at the next majopr right after the golf course, down about a 1/4-1/2 mile on your left. If oyu bring your spring pack already pulled apart they will charge you a lot less. Good luck! Andre

Thanks!

Just called them and they said that they will do both sides for $175 (off of the truck). They add a leaf, as well.

I'm just curious, though. I read on a site that heating up the springs (to something like 1600 degrees) is the correct way to re-arch, and that cold-presses just lead to spring failures in a very short time. This AAA Spring shop does the cold-press method.

What do you guys think?

AAA is a great shop, but check with Best Deal Spring too.

Honestly though, you really ought to start researching some new springs before you put too much money into the stockers. The OE springs (even the later packs) are notoriously weak and often break. Literally 1/2 of the gen 1 Tacomas we do lift installs on have a broken leaf in the flat packs. For $175 your 2/3 of the way towards completely new lift springs :D

Thanks for the info. I definitly don't want to go too high just yet. I was thinking putting on some 265 75 16's and having fun for a little bit before deciding on which lift to go with.

But I do agree that re-arching the stockers might be just money down the drain. I've been looking at new springs, but can't find any under $400. Any suggestions? Like I said, the most I'd want to go in the rear is maybe 1". Don't really want that raked look. Also, I have a Leer top, so that will probably level it out. Or perhaps just trying to find some take off's from other Tacoma's may turn out better.

I'd appreciate any input.
