The 2wd E4OD that you had stock has a VSS that sends three pulses per revolution to the speedo and the 4wd output shaft that they installed in the conversion is probably from an 4R100 and has a reluctor wheel with 32 pulses per revolution so that when you are moving slowly the speedo pegs and tells the ECM that you have hit the speed limiter (around 105 mph) and shuts down the engine. The VSS on the transmission output controls the speedo and the VSS on the rear axle sends its signal to the main ECM for the engine and transmission. Disconnect the VSS on the transmission and the speedo will not work but the transmission will shift correctly and you can drive it without problem.

You just need to correct the signal from the VSS at the transmission output to the speedo. It is a large scale adjustment and I don't know if the "Electronic Ratio Adapter" that you got from ujoint has that much adjustment range. The Dakota Digital SGI-5 C that I used works great and costs about $90.

The ERA that I sell works every time. They had it connected at the wrong location and may have damaged it. I recommended they call the manufacturer to test the unit and then go from there. I also told them to try the other wire @ the VSS.

Shoot, what a hassle, I hate it when stuff like this happens. I feel like a lot of shops dont want to listen to what I have read from the internet about people that have done exactly that before. I hope they get it figured out soon for you. Where are you going Mountain biking in Oregon? Black Rock? I have a very similar van, use it for the same stuff, 6" Ujoint that I need to finish the 4 wheel drive on. I use it for the same stuff, Just back from an amazing trip to whistler. Sweet van man, I really hope that they get it quick.
