Being as far south as I am, it would take too long to flee, then I'd have to fight the same traffic as everyone tries to get back in at the same time.

My place is all reinforced cinder block to the roof with impact windows. I expect to lose power and water. I'm more worried about the potential damage to my van from debris.

Sounds like its time for a cinder block home for the van with impact windows!

Well, survived without any home damage. Couple small trees fell. Without power for 48 hours, which made being in the house at 90 degrees unbearable. Used the time to finish a few things on my van in th driveway. The van only had slight damage, some of the great white paint peeled and exposed the primer, I would've been freaking out if I actually had a nice paint job. Could've been a lot worse.
