VDO oil pressure gauge and sender

I have installed a VDO oil pressure gauge and sender on "Rustic" my Tdi300 Defender just to monitoring the pressure and pump on the engine. I do not like the light to monitoring the oil pump.

The pressure using 15-40 good quality engine oil when cold is 400 kpa, when hot (normal engine operating temperature) is 250/300 at 90kph with a outside temperature of 390 centigrades.
Ideling is 200 kpa.

Thanks Graham, wen you can fit the oil gauge and an engine protection alarm on your Tdi300.
The engine alarm that I have in my Defe is a combination of heat sensor on the head and water level on the radiator. You know that over heating is the weak link on the Tdi.

I wonder if there is a way to configure this in a Rover V8?

Yes and also can be done cheaper. You can get Smiths gauges from the old Rangies which include the Oil temperature, oil pressure and the volt meter including the senders.

Other ways talk with the VDO representative near your place.

Cheers

This is something I had been thinking about myself. Anybody know of any nice gauge mounting options for a DII? I have A pillar pods for my Focus, but I can't find anything for the Rover?

You can use a MUD pod and mount it on the top of the dash.
HERE you can see some examples with VDO gauges like in my Defender.

Alternative you can fit one of THIS monitoring system and mount it on the centre console behind the diff lock selection leaver.

Cheers

This are the details of my setup:

Adapter: VDO 230-033 (10mm x1 )
Sender: VDO 360-001
Gauge: VDO 350-010016
