Video: extreme offroading with G-wagen

This is from 2012, two weeks race in Russia: http://ladoga-trophy.ru/en/ around Ladoga lake.
I've done it in 2001 with TLC KZJ73, but these guys in G-wagen make it look very easy, believe me, it is not.
This G-wagen is bare stock, on 36x12.5 Simex tires, two inch coil spring lift.

You are right, lots of winching, but as you can see on the swamps they were driving pretty well. I remember this large swamp on day one, we have done 200 meters on 6 hours and gave up. More than half of the participants were stuck until the morning. What amazed me in this video is how Gwagen works on the swamps with factory lockers, good job by the driver and spotters. I also think this G has an automatic gearbox, so much for no sayers for auto . Ladoga is a beautiful pace, if on trans Russia trip, worth a visit.

the key to this race seems to be good seals and water proofing.

Great vid, very typical offroading terrain in Russia. Grew up in Russia wheeling in a LADA without winches.
