That's a hell of a price. FYI, the original diesels are smaller 1.6 or 1.9 motors and slow. Very efficient though!

Yes. In mine, I didn't have to worry too much about traffic jams on the interstate -- they usually managed to get by me without too much trouble :wings:

In Cali there's no smog check for diesels that old, I believe. That would sure simplify an engine swap.

Maybe to a 1.8t?
