my 2007 mk5 rabbit that i am in the process of building now. H&R tiguan1 1/2 inch lift springs on stock front struts and aftermarket Procomp E3000 rear shocks, factory steel 15in wheels with 215/70-15 BFG AT tires. tomorrow the rear seat is being removed and a i am going to build a platform for storage and add a second battery. the roof rack with LED lighting is being built this weekend. I'm saving up for a factory steel skidplate.

Here's a picture of my Baja Bug that I bought as a stock bug back in 1982. It's got a 1776cc engine, VW Thing front trailing arms and spindles (works as a 3" front end lift with factory parts), coil over rear shocks, Jackman white spoke wheels, BF Goodrich Radial Mud Terrains front and rear, Hurst shifter, original factory roof rack, and Porsche India red paint.

So I drove a 72 bus with a 63 Corvair motor in it for years, would happily drive it again if the opportunity came along again. Never had the idea of leaving the road with it. Why this vehicle in these conditions?

July 21, 2014 is the 1 year anniversary of me test driving and purchasing my 1987 VW Vanagon Westfalia in Phoenix, AZ. You can read the full story HERE about how I found her on Craigslist in Phoenix and booked a last minute flight to go see her in person. It was crazy how it all played out but makes for a great story. These are some comparison photos from how Libby looked on the day I saw her in 2013 compared to now in 2014.

It seems like I’ve had Libby for years as opposed to just one year. The amount of sweat equity I’ve invested into her can not be fully explained. I’ve worked many nights and weekends on Libby in order to get her perfect… perfect to me. Many VW purists out there will not agree with all of the modifications I’ve made and will look down upon me but I say to them… Last I checked it was still MY name on the title… =).

Hullo, saw this and thought I should check in at this tread.

I`ve been doing stuff with Land Rovers for the past 15 years, nothing much but some trips here and there as well as running them as daily drivers. Several Range Rovers, a couple of LWB series and a couple of Discoveries series I. Had a fling with a 87 Suburban for some years, but it was just to big for a daily driver over here in Europe even thought I miss it (4" lift and 35" wheels) .

Traded the latest Disco for a 86 model VW T3 Syncro this fall, just for a change of scenery and a fullfilling a hankering for a car that was large engough to sleep in and that I`ve had a hankering for since they could be bought new.

Upgraded this to a 02 T4 Multivan 7 Seater with Syncro and Pop-top. 2,5 Tdi.

Hello all, im a young man from Sweden 29 years old,
i have a idea to buy a VW T25/T3 Syncro and take a trip
to England, maybe south europe, i think its a popular
vehicle to take out on vacation trips.

But i wondering if T25/T3 are a good idea,
maybe see T4 Syncro, if they are better but
i like the old classic VW´s.

What you think? Not much newer than -00,
or maybe a Golf Syncro and try live in a tent.

If you like to do your own mechanic works and have some serious plans for off-roading the beast, the T3 is a good choice. I found that I would rather have a T4 as a daily driver with some capabilities towards logging roads and such and loose the T3 which was planned as a car 3/Touring/adventure machine. If you want, there is a large Norwegian site for the VW buses at http://www.vwbus.no/forum/index.php with detailed discussions on all marks of the VW buses.
