Mods, if this is not an acceptable classified post, feel free to remove. I don't want to sell, just trade.

I want to trade: 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80
Located in Morristown, Tn ( 37814 / about 35 miles N/E of Knoxville, TN )
Looking for an equally built 100 Series Land Cruiser. I would really like one with lockers, even if it's just a rear locker in a 98 or 99. If yours has ARB air lockers, that would be even better.

My FZJ80 is a 1993, front, rear, and center diff locks, 178,000 miles, PHH done, new radiator, front axles done, all new hoses and belts, front main seal, oil pump cover O ring, distributor O ring, cats removed, tune up with all OEM parts, this has all been done in the last few month. OME 2.5 lift with heavies up front and med in the rear, I have a brand new set of heavies in the box for the rear and will install, 5 new General Grabber AT2 315/75R16, 5 TRD simulator beadlocks, snorkel, ARB front bull bar with Badlands 12,000 lb winch, custom sliders, rear bar with dual swing outs ( box will hold 3 Jerry Cans ), full roof rack, leather in good shape for the age with manual front seats, CB, Pioneer double din, and lots more. I bought this rig bone stock in May 2015 and everything has been done since then. A small spot of rust under the drivers side rear rocker, frame and everything else is solid. At this point I do not want to sell, I want a 100 series to trade for. If your rig isn't built and you're interested, shoot me a message and we'll talk. I would need enough boot to add lift, tires, armor, and lockers if needed. I'm located in east Tennesee ( 35 miles N/E of Knoxville ) and I would be willing to drive a few hours to meet.

My 80 runs great and will cruise down the interstate at 75 and 80 with no problem. I live in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains so there's a lot of hills. If I don't trade, I will re-gear to 4.56 or 4.88 but it's not that bad. If I lived in the flat lands, I wouldn't even consider re-gearing. The valve cover gasket is leaking a little and I have one, just not got to it. I had planned on pulling the fuel injectors and sending them off to be rebuilt and was going to do the VC gasket at that time, this is the last thing to do and I just haven't gotten to it. The HG has not been done but I see no reason to do it, it runs cool with no signs of problems. One of my friends bought his 1995 80 new and it has over 400,000 miles on the original HG and PHH so they don't all go bad. All mods, tires, and maintenance items have maybe 1000 miles on them.

I know this isn't a big deal to a lot of people but my cruiser will fit in a standard garage with a 9' wide x 7' high door. When I had the roof rack built, I had to take it back to change the gutter mount so it would fit in my garage. It clears by about an inch with a garage door opener but it does fit. I drive the 80 one or two days a week and didn't want it setting out in the weather.

If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM and I will get back to you ASAP.

The only other thing I might trade for is a 2005 or newer Tacoma 4 door, TRD Off Road, 4x4. We can talk about trade difference, I know depending on mods, I would have to come up with some extra cash.

You can see where the temp and oil pressure stays at after it's warm. I probably drove 20 miles before I took this pic

Skim, I had a serious offer of $15,000 for it last month but I didn't take it. That may be an example of the old adage of when 2 fools met but I didn't feel good about it so I declined. I know I have more than that in it but we all know when we start building these rigs, the chances are we will not get our money back out of them. That's another reason I want to trade because I feel like I could come out better than selling and building another one. I know the chances of finding the 100 I want and that person wanting my 80 may be slim but you don't know unless you ask.

Thanks guys, it really is a nice 80 and they're getting harder to find, especially with factory lockers and decent miles. This is my 8th Land Cruiser and 5th 80 series. I started with a 1983 FJ60 back in 1993 and have owned several 80's and one 100 series. When I had the 100 I didn't have the extra cash for a build so I wound up selling it and missed it ever since. My wife and I are on the 5 year plan to get the house paid off or I would keep the 80 and buy a 100 for a DD. I have a couple 4Runners that I'm going to sell also, I need to have a trail rig and a DD, those 2 normally don't work as one but if I found a 4 door Taco I could take it down to one ride which would be nice.

Forgot to mention in my ad, I will also consider a 2010 or newer 4Runner Trail Edition. It would probably need to be a 2010 - 2012 with some miles on it to stay within the price range of what I will have when I sell the 4Runners to pay the extra boot.

I guess most guys with a built 100 may feel like they're stepping down if they traded for an 80 series. I think I'll give it a week and if I don't get a trade offer, I'm either going to keep the 80 and buy a 98 or 99 and take my time doing a very mile build or put a price on the 80 and sell it and do a serious build on a 100. I'm kind of liking the 1st option. I drove the 80 to work today and I love driving it. It's nice driving something that you don't see every day and getting thumbs up all the time from other drivers. Here's a couple more pics I took a few weeks ago.

I see you have had a legacy of Cruisers, so you probably know this. As a former built 80 owner, you will dearly miss her. Since I sold mine I've had a '08 supercharged Taco and currently my 2010 Tundra is certainly a wonderful and capable rig. But the 80 Series are special, and when you get to know a particular vehicle so very well, both as a driver and mechanic, it's even harder. I do love the V8, and I open the Tundra hood and gaze upon a beautiful motor that needs nothing, ever, and has a bunch of widgets that I know nothing about. I don't do a damn thing to it except drive - I don't even change the oil myself anymore. Whereas I would open the hood on the 80 Series and know absolutely everything, remember when I touched the part last, knew the total history from head gasket to PHH and everything in between. It remains the most satisfying vehicle I have ever owned. I sold it with the understanding I get first chance to buy her back, so it may return to the flock. Yours is a beautiful rig - keep it if you can. And offer it to Expo and Mud first if you decide to sell!

I second what Mike said.

That is much nicer than the 100 series IMO.

I love both the 80 Series and the 100 series. That said, if I were you I'd just work on keeping that beautiful 80 series and finding a 100 series that's well priced and lower in milage. It's common to find them for less than $10,000 with decent milage.

My 80 series is pretty close to yours but I also have a wheeling 100 series and an LX470 for a DD. Once this addiction takes hold there is no telling how bad it'll get ya! :D uploadfromtaptalk1455980449193.jpguploadfromtaptalk1455980489321.jpguploadfromtaptalk1455980519287.jpg
