A reply from the builder.....

"The main builder was a local guy here in the Placerville called Tim Kjornes who is an electrical wizard. He can do evary part of the build. Timm Cooper did a bit of chassis modification. The installation of the engine and gearbox was Tim Kjornes and the hard part of it all was the incredible wiring that had to be done. The computer re-working. The positioning of the AC, and the heater, the design of the dash and it's guages etc was all Tim Kjornes. I had it painted and I arranged the interior guy who does our planes to do the interior. My wife and I assembled the whole thing. We put in all the windows, we put in the interior. We did the wheels and tires and glass.
The whole thing after 9 months with Timm Cooper took 5 months to finish to what it is today.

It is featured on the cover and in a 4 page article in Land Rover World in June. It is a truly excellent vehicle.
Thanks for all your comments.

Wow that's a nice 109. I'm guessing at 40K the seller is just looking to get out close to what he has in it, that had to be expensive.

The thought of 285hp in a series Rover kind of scares me. Did they also convert to disc brakes?
