I've been meaning to share these photos from a few years back. Our local Land Cruiser club had an outstanding trip to the Ouray, Colorado area a few years ago. We had a few members of the Rising Sun Club of Colorado join us as well. This is part 1. Following parts include, Poughkeepsie Gulch, Engineer Pass and Imogene Pass.

I don't plan on using any descriptions, just photos that are for the most part chronological. Hope you enjoy them.

Seeing those pictures makes me want winter to hurry up and end so I can make it up to that area and do some exploring myself. Good stuff! :smiley_drive:

Killer shots, thank you.

I have a question about the switchbacks; Are they wide enough for a 100 series towing a Kimberly Kamper to navigate? And also what is usually the earliest they are open (Snow free)?

Here's a pic of my KK for scale.

100 series cannot make a couple of the turns without backing up

Tell me when to stop picture

4 of July is the normal opening

24HoursofNevada.....I'm gonna say no on a 100 series with a trailer. I have a small off-road trailer about the size of a M416 and there is no way I'd try to take it down the switchback on Black Bear. There are a couple tight ones that I felt were a little sketchy in just my 80 series.

These pics were taken in September. There is a small window (usually) between late August thru mid September that most of these high-elevation passes are clear of snow.
