Water cooler/storage

What is everyone using for potable water? I have seen the rotopax, but I'm not interested since my rig has more of an old military or vintage utilitarian theme. I am on the hunt for something that could hang off the tire carrier or side of the vehicle with a spigot for quick access. Right now we load up bottled water in a cooler but trying to get away from that. Let's see what you have!

The military had water cans that fit into the jerry can bracket. The current ones are plastic. The older ones were aluminum or stainless and look great polished.

I just received a 12 gallon tank from Valterra. I like that they're abs so you can solvent weld fittings anywhere you need, and they come in a range of volumes. I'll have a pump and faucet for mine to start, and will eventually add a hot water system. The black rectangle isn't sexy, but at 8" high, it will mount underneath almost anything, so you don't really need to see it.

I use NATO 20 liter plastic water cans - have had them for close to 10 years. I also use the blue plastic 5gal jugs you see through camping supply shops. Both work equally well. The only trouble has been keeping them from freezing, and the blue plastic cube-shape may have an advantage here. Camping in zero degree weather, starting with room temperature water, I get ~12-14 hours before the outer layer will freeze - stored deep inside a parked vehicle. Two of the blue cubes will fit inside the largest cooler I have, throw in a hand warmer pack it will easily make it overnight and into the next day.
