Aquatainer 7 gallon. There are some older models around that had stoppers instead of screw on caps for the vent opening. Avoid those.

5 gallon nato tan plastic scepter thingy...

I plan on putting a 13 gallon setup from paul @ equipt as soon as I find a reason not to like my killer jerry can. :)

I'll agree, these things are stout

thats pretty much what I have. the tan one.

It still has its DoD markings.

Doesn't leak a drop. Come to think of it, I should probably invest in a couple more for the zombie apocalype scenario...:D

I love these things ( http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=561576 ). Swiss military water bags. if you hang them in the sun they make a great source of hot water. I made an adapter to use on for a shower. They are extremely tough too. They will impart a slight taste to the water the first couple of time they are used. I usually fill them with water and 1 tsp of chlorine bleach and let them set for a week or so. Empty and let air dry. I do this a couple of times and the taste goes away. These are flexible and will fit into nooks and crannies the couldn't normally be used for storage. They are made of a cord reinforced rubber compound. I have had some for over 10 years and they are still going strong.

the best thing about the Scepter tank is that it won't breed algae.. the thick plastic prevents any UV rays from getting in.. the Aquatainer and water jugs like it are algae carriers.. once it starts the only way to get rid of it is chlorine bleach. (not very good to drink) You can store water in the scepters for an extended period of time problem free...

I have several 5 gallons and a pair of 2.5 gallons.. the 2.5 works perfectly with the Zodi shower.. the pump fits through the filler and it heats up in about 5 minutes then I shut the heater off.
For a quick easy water dispenser I use the pump from the Zodi shower, I never have to move the water tanks off my trailer or Jeep

Paul @ equipt has some nice tanks that would fit behind the seat of a cherokee, or wrangler. Both designs hold about 13 gallons. They are quite a bit smaller than one would think, and are supposedly made of thick food-grade plastic.

I think they both have feed tubes/valves, as well as capped fill holes that are easily accessible.

These could easily be integrated into a kitchen/drawer system in the back...

What's great, too, is that the weight of the water which is substantial @ around 8lbs a gallon, is lower than the doorsills. This would keep and may even lower the vehicles center of gravity, making side-hills more stable.
