Weight on top of RTT?

I'm headed camping next week and I've realised I have run out of room in my trailer for my kayaks. I was curious what you guys think of weight on top of an RTT folded closed??? I test fit one of the kayaks yesterday on my Yakima Skyrise HD and a kayak will fit perfectly on each side of the ladder. I was thinking of getting a set of kayak car top pads to protect the tent, but I'm not confident of that much weight on the tent during transport. Anyone ever have experience with packing on top of their RTT?

Thanks!

It might support the weight. But if the kayak is putting pressure on the tent and "wiggling" (for lack of a better term) while bouncing down the road it MIGHT rub a hole in something underneath (like tent fabric that is resting on a support pole or something).

There are dynamic weight limits on vehicles. This is a good place to start when considering adding weight to the rooftop. These limits are not about the strength of the vehicle's roof, but all about the center of gravity, braking and suspension. If the combined weight of the crossbars, tent and kayaks exceeds the maximum dynamic weight limit (the amount of weight allowed while driving) then I would not recommend additional loading.

Some models of our AutoHome tents are engineered to accept 'piggy back' cross bars to carry additional loads (like kayaks) within the allowed dynamic weight limit of your vehicle.
