Thanks for the tips guys. Went to check out and test ride an very clean DRZ400SM today. Loved the way it looked, hated the way it rode. Way too touchy for me. Ya ya I know, everyone says give it a couple of weeks and you will get used to it. Honestly, even if I got used to it I'm not sure I'd want to drive it on the road everyday.

I just don't think the dirt bike type setup is right for me...at least right now. I'm going to be on the road 90% of the time and I want to be confident and comfortable.

I would love a Transalp, though haven't yet ridden one. If I could find one locally I'd be happy.

Next on the list to check out is the Kawasaki Versys

Alright...Versys! I have a feeling you are going to like this bike...

I did really like this bike. I want this bike...even in the obnoxious Lime Green color they are offering at the dealer. But the dealer isn't willing to deal within my budget and I'm quickly finding out that used models are hard to find. I've already called 2 places that had some used models listed and they were gone. There is one listed right now on craigslist in Phoenix and a decent price, but its Red and I'm just not in love with the Red.

I'm going to give it some time and see what comes up used this week or two. If I can get the blue or the green I'll go for it, if not I might go take a look at the red one.

Josh really loved this bike as well, and we are already talking about sharing and trading between bikes. In other news we are going tonight to pickup his Dakar.

Well we went tonight and picked up Josh's new toy. I don't think it was the ideal first 'real ride' situation on his bike but he did really great! I followed him in the truck while he braved riding home in the dark, rush hour Phoenix traffic. Enough talking, here it is:

I'm excited just having it in my garage! :wings:

Curious if anyone has any thoughts on the BMW X Country?

Nice ride:bike_rider: I'm coming up to take it out for a test ride. I'll fill the tank when I'm done.

Tim I think we could probably arrange that!! :victory:

Oh and nevermind all on the X Country...I still think its a cool bike but I spent two hours last night reading about all the electrical gremlins they have and I'm not interested in taking that on....thats why I don't own a Land Rover! :smilies27 :peepwall:

The Dakkar is a sweet bike. A friend of mine has one and her really likes it... Same weight as a KLR and twice the price...:bike_rider: For a commuter its great. My buddy really likes his but he wants something a little more offroadish....

Will you and Josh be bringing your new toys to the meet and greet on Saturday? I'd LOVE to have a test sit!

Rex we were not planning on making it out to the dinner Saturday. If anything changes in our schedule I'll see if we can make it.

Ok, I'm leaving work and going to check out the X Country...I just can't help myself.
