Hey Folks. Just signed up as this forum seemed ideal for the type of use I had planned for my truck. I've had a 2nd gen 4Runner in Michigan while in college I loved and then a utility only 97' T100 2wd long bed 4 cylinder that ended up being a great truck for Baja but the lack of space and 4wd meant it was time for an upgrade.
Hunted around for a while and found this 05' Tundra DC. It had the moonroof I really wanted and the color combo I liked. Took some time getting used to its size but I really like the truck. I hit the trails this weekend with it and it did amazing. Next plan is a road trip up to Oregon for a week or two and pick my Dad up on the way. He's not super outdoorsy so its a mellow trip. I'll probably go hiking a lot and snowboard on the way home when I'm solo.
Currently the truck has 100k on it. I just got the timing belt handled. Its solid throughout. Not the best suspension, its spacers and camberg UCA's and 285's all around. I got lucky and found a matching cap used but now the rear is sagging and could probably use some 5100's. Besides that my only quick plans were to hookup a backup cam and some better lighting before the trip. I've got chains and recovery gear already. If anyone can think of anything else that would be helpful I bring lemme know!
First order of business was removing these eye sores of a center cap.
