What are every one's tentative trip plans for '07?

Thought it might be cool to get a thread where everyone lists tentative dates and locations they are either planning or considering. I'd love to meet up with some expo folks over the next year and I usually have to start planning my summer season activities in the next month or I get booked up with other stuff. It would be cool to get a feel for where everyone might be just in case some dates and locals line up!

Are there any outings like last summer's CO get together planned?

I am hoping to make it out to Colorado and/or Utah this summer. A lot of things have to happen right to make that work, but that is what I hope to do.

Ideally, I would like to do the Alpine Loop in the San Juan's and the White Rim Trail in Canyonlands.

If I can accomplish even one of these, I will consider it a great year, though...

Although I haven't been on an expo portal expedition, I'd like to.

Maybe we should put a calendar together for 2007?

I'm going to do several state highpoints. For sure Wheeler Peak in March. Don't know about the rest yet.

Only solid plan is a regatta near Toronto in late July. I will probably do some sort of spring flower trip and fall color trip, possibly around Yankee Boy Basin. I am trying to keep September pretty open because I usually have so many conflicts that I end up doing nothing. I would love to do some sort of birthday trip around 9/9.

We hope to be heading back to Central America in early April! I want to go through the Copper Canyon in northern Mexico on the way down (first week of April tentatively). Anyone want to come?

As of now these are what my travel plans look like. Most are work trips but I try to mix pleasure into those as much as possible.

Jan 5-10 Summit County CO
Rest of January and Feb all around the Midwest.
Early March Mt Bachelor, OR and Colorado
Mid March British Columbia or Alaska, not sure which one yet.
End of March Lutsen, MN
Mid April Park City, UT, and possibly a Moab excursion.
Early May Park City, UT again, maybe Moab as well
End of May Colorado
June 5-20 Mammoth Mtn, CA and Yosemite excursion for sure
First half of July is looking to be my vacation time. Thinking of doing trip to Montana to visit my brother then spend the rest of the time 4wd trekking trails down through CO.
End of July Mt Hood, OR
Early August local weekend trips in the UP
Last half of August Chile
Early September I'd like to do a trek around the north shore of Lake Superior and do some kayak touring in the provincial and national parks.
Last half of September Austria
Late October local trek up the Keewenau peninsula for paddling, camping, biking
November spent in CO through December 10th or so.

I'm kind of all over the place, but if anyone happens to be around any of those areas around those times, let me know. Would be great to meet more people from the board and possibly learn some new cool spots.

Not sure how it is in September but going Ouray over Black Bear pass to Telluride, then over Imogene to Yankee Boy Basin is pretty fun. If you are in Yankee Boy definately give Mt Sneffels a climb if you haven't already. Its got a really small summit and makes for some awesome pictures of the San Juans. I've only been up that way in late July and August though. I bet September starts to see some ugly weather up there at times.

Still working on the rest - mostly training runs. Saving all the big stuff till 08 & 09 and beyond

08 - Yellow Knife to Bob's road on the ice :) - There are a couple of mining roads that I want to take a look at. ~ 600Km of ice roads - supposedly up to Bathurst inlet. - Across the great slave lake then follow the frozen rivers to the sea.

09 - Wedding anniversary trip - across the US - comfort trip with the Mrs ;)
10 - Tuk to Herschel Island (beaufort sea) - Still in the planning stages.
11 - work in progress - Anyone fancy going to Peru?

Meant to add the money no object trip - Would like to do the cross polar shackleton expidition by truck - of course I'll have to figure out a way of throwing a couple of hundred thousand at it :)

Well so far I have plans to get down to the Everglades for a long weekend in February. I want to go get my back country permits and check out the official OHV area. I'll probably get in some kayak fishing while I'm down there.

March brings on the Galapagos Islands for 2 weeks. It has been in my top 5 international destinations for awhile now. 1 week on a boat touring the islands and stuff, and then 1 week in an "adventure" hotel doing fishing, diving, kayaking etc!

Hopefully june will get us a week for a trip to tellico and uhwarrie ohv areas or the land between the lakes we have not decided yet. This should be our first run witht he new extra cab mounted on the truck!

In the fall we are planning Guatemala. Dust or Glory the Mundo Mayan expedition. The plan is for Chris From Campa trailers, Mike Lokey and myself to drive down. Scoop up the wives in Mex and then spend 12 days exploring Guatemala. We also want to spend a few of those days doing some mission work.

In between I have have alot of paddling trips I want to do in the state. I want to knock off atleast 300 miles of the state canoe trails list this year.

Oh and somewhere in there do the dirty word.......work LOL!

James Bay? Sweet, I've been researching that off and on over the past couple of years. Only roads that I found were coming up through the Quebec side. Doesn't sound like there is a whole lot to see once you get there though. What is your route/plan?

Where are you located? You must be somewhere in my neck of the woods (east of the Mississippi and north of the 40th parallel. Some of those trips that you mentioned sound very cool. I'd love to hear more about them.
