I believe lanterns should be actual fire.
I sized my battery system to run AC for 5 hours. We'll see if I ever get the AC installed.........

The best less expensive "good color" I've seen are the ones with separate RGB bulbs that can be set to any color.
I haven't tried these camping yet. These have the added advantage of being set to red for preserving night vision..... as well as other festive colors
Newer LED "bulbs" are coming out which add in some yellow LED's to tone down the white. The issue with the white is they haven't made a white LED yet, they just modify a blue which is why you get the harsh white color in bwteeen the blue and white wavelength. Its close to the same wavelength as the HID lights which get th bluish tint when not viewed direct on(as when your looking to the side of the road away from an oncoming vehicle). I'm in that small minority of people who gets headaches from that color but the DOT decided we weren't enough and allow those HID's on the road anyway.

I don't run much. I have a light in my M416 lid, and one in the RTT.
I also have inverters in the trailer and both Jeeps, for charging the batteries for the camera and headlamps, as well as the batts for my 18V Ryobi tools.
The cordless drill, impact and sawzall come in handy for repairs!:coffeedrink:
Still planning on a 12V fridge, water pump, and fan for the RTT.
Eugene, on the HID headlights, they come in a broad spectrum. The ones that were in my XJ when I bought it, I hated. As did others on the road, judging from the 'high beam flashes' I got.
I swapped them for another set, and went 'middle of the road' for the spectrums they offered. No problems since then, for me or other drivers.
