Anyone heard or tried the DEKA batteries I believe there was an article in Overland Journal? I am going to try a pair of their ultimate batteries for my 83 BJ42? I have emailed their customer service and asked their opinion and they were very responsive and said these batteries can be bought at Walmart and other large vendors? A thought?

I am done with Optimas. I have had TWO group 31 Yellow tops fail in the past year. I returned them to the distrbutor. He is also a distributor of DEKA, and recommends the DEKA AGM over the Optima. They are also cheaper by about $50.

I am running a large (31) Interstate now, but will probably go to DEKA for future needs.

I have heard alot of people on other forums dont care for Optimas? I am going to make my BJ42 dual batterie setup and figured I would give the DEKA a try? I just seen another article/ad for Odessy batteries but they were super expensive$$$$. The customer service rep at DEKA suggested a cheaper model DEKA to me for my small diesel and then I told him I would be running other electronics and that I wanted a better or best model and he suggested the ultimate silver something or other battery, so I will try that?

X2 for the Odyssey. I had been a big fan of the Optima's never having had some of the problems described here BUT, after reading the specs and actually seeing an Odyssey, I am hooked.

I lived in Alaska for three years and Odyssey if by far the #1 choice for folks who need to tough out rough winters in super remote places.. I have the 2150 in my Tacoma - SUPER OVERKILL for my simple truck, but I will never have to worry about battery issues for a very long time.

Good luck in your quest
