I'll look into those. Might consider those for now. Don't really want to spend $200, on brakes, yet. Need to put funds into other repairs, also.I have a T100 with stock brakes, which aren't the world's best (a Tundra rotor/caliper upgrade is a popular mod, but I haven't springs for that). Anyway, I just installed Akebono ACT pads and they are noticeably better than whatever was in there before. Cheap and quick shipment from Amazon.
they are the stock rotors? if so how much do you want for them? I was thinking of getting OEM rotors and pads for this time around.Just completed the tundra conversion for my third gen 4Runner. (Anybody need rotors in great shape?)
If you are keeping your existing calipers, I would order OEM pads from camelback Toyota.
Thanks for the info. I do have a trailer, but never had a problem stopping with it, because it has trailer brakes. I plan on building an off road trailer and that will have brakes as well.If you are in a taco with 15 inch wheels, I don't think the tundra upgrade is worth the price/hassle for you, unless you tow, or have a camper.
The 4Runner tosses 1000 lbs of **** on a taco frame, and uses the same front brakes, and after upsizing your tires to 33's the brakes just don't have the stopping power anymore.
Basically, my tundra upgrade was to get my rig to be able to stop like a stock unladen tacoma. If you don't have those worries, no need to upgrade.... Unless you have a camper, or tow a trailer.
