What Brand Camera Do You Use?

I still use a No.2 Brownie. It was made before 1920. I love using older cameras. What's funny is only two out of my ten cameras are younger then I am. All my others are older then me by 9 years or more.

Interesting. I sometimes respool 120 tmax onto 620 spools and shoot with a Brownie Hawkeye. Its a fun thing to do. What film do you use with your Brownie?

My normal point & shoot is a Pentax67 and my real camera is a Wisner 4X5 technical.

That is a really fantastic camera. It depends on what I want to do as to what film I put in the Brownie

Sometimes I use paper and just make it into a fancy pinhole camera. From time to time when I get on an Expressionist kick I will put 4x5 sheet film in. This allows for some great in camera distortion due to the films size in the camera. I have a long running series of images that play off of the old German Expressionist films such at The Cabinet of Dr Caligari.

A few times I have cut up some 120 film in the dark and use the pieces from the roll as sheet film. This way is a little difficult to do due to curling when I try to load.

If you're looking for the 'popular' cameras, then Canon has been outselling Nikon for the last 5-ish years or so. They make wonderful products, and to invest in their system would serve you well.

Really the only difference between Nikon/Canon is how it feels in your hands.

I have a Brownie Hawkeye, that was originally sold in 1956 (the price tags was still on the box). It has been a while since I have run any film through it; but when I was a kid (5-10 yrs old), that is all I used.

I have 6 Nikons - D2x, F4, F2a, Nikkormat Ftn, and a pair of Nikonos U/W cameras.

I have a Canon G4 digital P&S also. A nice camera.

Choose carefully. If you buy a 35mm SLR format camera, you will end up with a bag of lenses at some point, and the future brand choice will be dictated by what you have in the bag.

I have always found Canon to have a more intuitive user interface than other manufacturers. Add to that some of the best glass in the consumer lens range and the decent prices for high end consumer cameras (Elans and the digital Rebel) and you got a winner!

I've always been a Canon P&S fan, however when it came time to purchase a DSLR I went with Nikon because of the D40/X. The kit lenses are so much better.

I do agree if your going SLR pick a brand and stick to it. So you can keep the same lenses on your newer or older bodies.
