What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

F that noise.

I assume you're referring to the road noise from the tires? Honestly it's not that bad. Made two trips south like this (one to Seattle and one to Calgary - so maybe 16,000 km last summer). Even making the trip with the soft top and towing the trailer it wasn't bad. A little louder with the trailer as I think the noise bounces off the trailer, but overall, nothing the radio or my kindle reading me a story doesn't fix.

I was referring to the amount of mud on it and how much I hate mud.

I added seat heater to the rear outside seats. Got a set a TrekArmor seat covers, then suck the waterproof heaters to them, ran the wires under the carpet and wired the switches to the back of the center console.

Honestly I'm not a fan of it either. It can be fun to play in, but cleaning it is a pain in the ***. When possible I'll try to avoid it (taking bypasses and whatnot), but I'm still going to go down the trail - especially in that situation where we were there to rescue 2 trucks that had been there for several days.

Would love to have more pics & details on this...

Sorry don't have more pictures, but here is what I did.

I purchased these set heaters
http://www.cobraheat.com/WarmSeats-Waterproof-Seat-Heater-_p_9.html

I got these rear seat covers, but any good seat covers should do the trick
https://www.trekarmor.com

I purchased some really good 3M tape, I think this is it, will try to find it tomorrow and look
http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/...-Tape-987?N=5472715+4294864211+5581386&rt=rud

1) I put the tape on the seat heaters and let it sit for a few days
2) cut the heaters to fit the seat covers, you can length, DO NOT CUT WIDTH
3) stuck the heaters to the seat covers
4) put the seat covers on with the heater wires coming out the back of the seats
5) took off the rear cover of the center console, this is done by opening the top part, removing the 4 screws that hold the hinge and lifting the cover off, then pull on the rear cover and it should pop off (2013 model year here)
6) I had to add some wires to the seat heater wires to make it reach the center console.
7) drill the holes where you want them, it says 20mm holes, is about a 13/16, I used a 3/4 and did some fileing to make the switch fit
8) run the wires under the carpet and then find a way to stuff the relays and wire to the sides of the center console, there is room in there for them to fit
9) ran the powers wires to the engine area, I have an spod, so I hooked them up there, that way I can control if they are on or off.

Hope this helps

Do they heat up good? I am thinking of doing this to my front seats. I need heat as my back is really bad from years of abuse on snowmobile.

Yes, they heat up nicely. I have use my front stock seat heaters many times for just that reason.

I went and looked at it in the dealer lot, where it sits awaiting warranty work.

This is day 16 of her sitting forlorn in the lot, waiting for a power steering pump, which is on back order.

In the meantime I get to drive a 2014 Compass, which is terrible and cheap. I duck every time I pass a wrangler.

$45k vehicle off the road for an extended length of time, and I get a $15k rental. Garbage.

Had my 3.5" MetalCloak lift installed. From looking at it, it looks like I got somewhere between 4.5-5+ inchs of actual lift. My mechanic says he measured it from the frame and thought it was almost 7" of lift... but I think he's mistaken. All I know is it (and my flat fenders) make my 33x13.5x17 tires look tiny.

Here's the only picture I have (yeah it's bad) but was too busy watching the hockey game to deal with better pictures. Will attempt some this weekend.
