What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Well, this weekend, not today, but I towed the vintage boat 180 miles each way for a weekend at the coast. Snoball did great but 9.75 mpg hurts my feelings. Eh, I guess there's more to life than gas mileage!
If you tarp the boat, it could help a bit. But I also dought that you get good gas consumption with that vintage envirude. :)

It might help some but I only get 12+ mpg around town WITHOUT the boat, so I doubt I've got much to gain. Honestly, nearly 10mpg is probably pretty good, considering the daily mpg. As for the big 85hp 'Rude....yeah. In mixed cruising I burn about 5-6 gal/hour. On the plus side, it's the original '73 motor and it will still run the boat 32mph. If it ever kicks the bucket I've got my eye on a late model 60hp E-Tec that will hit the same mph and more than double the mpg.

With the mud & snow in the high desert, and no real good anchor points always at hand, I wanted to have something with me for an anchor point to winch off for self extrication. Pull Pal is pricey, sorta of works and really requires 2 people to work didn't fit for me. The cheaper knock offs while cheaper, are something I can't trust. I decide to go with a 3-2-2 picket anchor point system for about $50. Many times I have vertically hung myself, 2 others and gear off a 1-1-1 picket system so I am comfortable using a 3-2-2 as an anchor point for the Jeep

Here are the bits & pieces I got. I up graded from the rope and windless to appropriate rated ratchet straps.

Here is a sample of what a 3-2-1 system looks like assembled. A 3-2-2 is just a little more rugged. The attachment is at the bottom of the 3 stakes to the left and the direction of pull is to the left

A 3-2-1 system is rated for a vertical live load dead lift for 6K, a 3-2-2 ups that some for a vertical lift - and this is for a horizontal pull

Bought one! Downsized from a 2016 Ram Power Wagon to a 2017 wrangler sport.

Tossed on some Rubicon take offs. Soft top is ordered, AEV spacer kit on the way along with several rugged ridge interior goodies.

Lots more to come!

Added a Brawlee rear LED interior cargo/exterior hatch light bar. These are awesome setups! Fit is perfect, quality is nice, and it comes with a remote for multiple light settings. Totally stoked on this! Makes it much easier to see when getting in and out of the cargo area/ARB drawers, and for cooking! I wired it to the 12v outlet in rear and set my M7 fuse to have constant power to that outlet-can turn the light on and off at any time.

Added an always on/ready 12V cigarette lighter receptacle in the back of my Jeep. The one on the dash is only on when the key is on.

Installed an Odyssey Extreme series battery. Stock one was not up to the task of keeping the ARB fridge powered up. We'll see how the Odyssey does!
