What do you know about the Toyota Hilux with D-4D ?

What is the payload of a Hilux D4-D versus a Tacoma? I read they have over 2000 pounds - that seems huge!

the former hilux with the2L/2LT had a payload of 1900 pounds, they were sold with solid front axle until 1997, and then changed to ifs.

whay is the payload for the Takoma?

My 2005 double cab with a short bed only has a payload of around 1250 lbs if I remember correctly. I would like to have that extra 500lbs or so of capacity.

No,
the post 1998 with the IFS have the same payload, at least for the mid-east/africa models.

Confirmed re payload. I looked at this last year and everything on Toyota of Kampala's lot had the higher payload.
