Pirate is a good, but please don't go there expecting to ask noobie questions. They really are rather rough on that type of stuff but are getting better.
That really depends on where you ask the questions. The forums are set up for non-hardcore newbie questions and hardcore non-newbie questions. If you ask a newbie non-hardcore question in the wrong forum they will jump on you. It is pretty clearly marked which is which.
Having said that, for the most part Pirate4x4 is a hard core rock crawling forum. This can be intimidating to many people and if you are just looking for mild bolt on upgrades Pirate may not be the best place for you.
However a lot of what goes on there can and does translate even to the mild off roaders needs and expectations. Some on there are fabricating gods. :Wow1:
If you pay attention to what you are posting and where and follow the rules Pirate can be a great place. If you don't want anything to do with that, there are plenty of other forums. Never be offended because a forum is not "your type" of forum, just look elsewhere for a place you fit in.
