I'll chime in here with my thoughts...I found that it was easier to do what I do for a living and save up enough money to have someone build one for me. Granted, I have delved into the 'do-it-yourself' realm for other things, and I have learned that there are professionals for every skill and craft. The time required for me to make something similar to my Sherpa II, would be painfully long and be an exercise in patience for the WHOLE family. Now I can enjoy the time camping with my family instead of making trips to the store to buy that 'one more piece' of sheet metal, bolt, or other misc. supplies...
Don't get me wrong, I congratulate those who are building their own. I just don't have the time, tools and expertise that is required to do this and do it well.
Now if any of you ever need a root canal, come see me. Afterall, that is what I am exceptional at doing... :clapsmile
