What is my truck worth? 2001 Tacoma

Hi guys, this is first and foremost a listing to find out what my truck is worth. I have had her for the last 3 years and she has served me well. The wife is cramped with the dog and cooler in the cab so its time to get something a little bigger. What do you guys think I could get for my truck?

So, I know that KBB claims my truck is only worth $6,000, but I know what I paid for it a little over 2 years ago, and it was twice that. What do you guys think I could sell this truck for?

Some pics of the Vision X lights. They are cheesy to most, but so useful in the campsite at night. My wife loved the wireless remote when she had to get up to go to the bathroom. They make for perfect 'mood' lighting after dark.

All the items added to the truck won't really add value and could actually work against you when you try to sell/trade. You've modded the truck for your taste. If i were you I would part it out and then sell it. You will get more for it that way. KBB is probably a little low on their price but your truck is an SR5 4cyl non TRD so so don't expect too much more.

Definitely sell all of your add ons separately. It may be more of a pain, especially if you don't have the factory pieces but you could sell the bumper, winch, lights and for $1500 or more. They will not help the value of the truck and as already mentioned may hurt the resale due to being different and a lot of folks thinking that trucks with off road accessory are abused more.

As is or with everything returned to factory I would think around $10-12,000. When I was trying to sell my 99 Tacoma,with way more miles, a lot of folks laughed when I tried to sell it for $8500. I blew a driveshaft shortly after but still managed to sell it to a guy for 6k without a drive shaft, jb welded gas tank, and rough running engine.

These trucks are highly sought out and liked by those who had them before. Give it time. I paid $2000 over KBB on my 2003 because it was exactly what I wanted and low mileage, clean 1st gens are starting to get hard to find. Good luck!

*re-read and $12k may be a little high. I would not take a penny below $9k though. I never actively tried to sell my old truck. It sat beside my house on a small, country road covered in pine straw and pollen for several months while I tried to find a one piece drive shaft to go back in it since I had cut off the 2 piece mounts. Despite that I had at least 8 people stop and ask about it. Several made offers. It sold with 185k miles, bad paint, a couple of big dents, cracked front window, horrible interior, and broken out rear brake light. If you are in no hurry then you can get a really good price for it.

IMO, if you dont want to part it out, at least paint that front skidplate black and de-sticker the windows. I think those two things alone woud help resale and not cost anything to do.

Ok, thanks guys! I do have the ability to put it mostly back to stock. The stock front bumper won't ever be able to go back on, as the frame was worked on to ensure it would stand up to winching.

Find an 01-04 Double cab, put all of your add on stuff on the new truck, put the stock stuff on your old truck, sell for KBB, make you, wife, and dog happy campers!

The hardest part will be finding an 01-04 double cab, but they are out there. BTW, I made a platform for our dogs and cooler and it was one of the best improvements on our last trip. The cooler stayed inside the cab and reduced the use of ice, and both of the dogs had plenty of room in the back(spoiled boxers).

The dealer probably marked it up to 12,999 and sold it for around ten.

To the OP,
They are crazy high prices here in WA.
8-9000 would be fair for both parties
