What is the round disk on the front axle?

Tried to search, but I don't know what the part is. The front axle on my 98 D1 has a hocky puck shaped metal thing with a wire locking cable on it. I can't figure out what is or what it is for. ?

is it for the axle, steering, or the axle shafts? What's inside. Just curious how it works.

It is only to reduce harmonics from the prop-shaft. Most people take them off before they get ripped off on the trail.

yes it just look inside and compare it to your engine mount they are the same .
