That is definitely VSAT. If you can pull a make and model number and any other manufacturer's details off of it, I can do a little bit of research on it for you.
 
That looks like an INMARSAT-B set to me, probably an early portable NERA Saturn B. You sometimes see them come up for sale with the folding flat antenna, the small dish antenna (it's probably 60cm or 85cm, although it could be 1.2m) is usually inside a radome.


Thanks Dave! I believe you are correct. This was obviously before my time, ha ha! It's that dish that threw me off. In any case, this platform has been not supported for I think over 10 years now.

I think that in the best case scenario this might make a nice collector's piece for someone who needs it for their sat com technology museum.
