Hi everyone
Currently have a 03 limited
Iron man lift
I'm picking up some
17x8.5 -10 offset wheels I'm not to sure in what tires I want to run and wondering what else everyone is using.

I currently have the stock rims in and running 285/75/16
My mpg sucks bad . I do light trails and some fire roads nothing to crazy but can do some crazy stuff.
I do tow once or twice a year about 4k trailer.

I read everything from
265/70/17
265/75/17
285/70/17
Just not to sure.

Thanks in advance

265/75R17 is the best fit with and without a lift. Stock was 265/65R17
Where is anyone finding 265/75r17 tires? I'd go for the universal 265/70r17 myself, since the 285/70r17 will have the same fuel economy drawbacks as your current 285/75r16s.

I ran 265/75/16's on my Gen 3 and they were about perfect in size. A comparable tire size in 17" wheels would be 265/70/17:

Here is what mine looked like on 265/75/16's. By the way, I am a huge fan of the Falkien Wildpeak AT3 tire. quiet on the pavement, excellent off road, good in rain and snow. Just all around great tire.

You followed me, so now we're both lost
I've run 265/70R17 on mine so far. They are stock size for JK wrangler, which makes them easy to find.

I'm on my second set of Toyo Open Country AT's.

I had the first generation WildPeaks on my '05 and thought they were very loud. But these AT3 are much different. I have the milder version Falken Wildpeak AT Trail on my '14 Outlander and they are fantastic. Very quiet and great traction. Lots of progress over the years at Falken.

265/75R17 may be one of those sizes canceled. I had a set 10+ years ago on my '05

Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.
As stated above, the 265/75/16 are a nice size. The comparable 265/70/17 will fill out the wheel well nicely and not be too bad on mpg.
I also like to think about getting a tire size that is easy to replace when traveling, if the need arises. Odd size tires can be hard to replace in small towns.
I've been running Cooper ST Maxx (265/75/16). It is a very tough tire. One feature that keeps me coming back is the 3-ply sidewall.

Let's see a snap shot of your rig!

Cheers

I have some load E michelin ltx at2 265/75/16 tires on my truck and they seem to work great for the places I've gone (sand mostly) they're 10 years old though and really hard
