OK.....This is Cool! I live by those DED and RoadKill shows. Very cool. Thanks for sharing. My first, and only, Jeep was a '51 CJ-3A that a friend and I bought from some folks here in Phoenix that probably needed some drug $$. I think we bought it in 1993 for about $800-$900. Got it running, did a little bit of work to it, and then it sat at our house in Tempe for awhile and then moved to my friend's Dad's backyard in Peoria. In about 2010, my friend Rick Pewe went on a trip with me and I asked if he wanted to buy it. He did and $500 later, it was his. He and David Freiburger came and lived at my friend's parents' house for about a week as they got it running and driving well enough to drive it back to CA for one of their legendary DED (Dirt Every Day) articles they used to do about once a year for Petersen's 4 Wheel and Off Road magazine. Rick still has the Jeep here in AZ and I'm glad it went to a good home.

That was a 1989 XJ with the inline 6 and automatic transmission and it was a beast. Super reliable and capable. Man could it scoot. It chased down many a drug dealers, bank robbers and fugitives while also pulling fellow LEO's out of flood zones, mud, snow and the occasional highway medium.Ha ha! Deputy Gage in the computer "lab!"
Love "end of report."
I loved seeing the XJ as a police package. Seemed like a perfect vehicle for rural police work. Those were my favorite Jeep rims, too
With Armstrong Tru-Tracs!I was 17 when I got my 1948 CJ2A.
It was slow going, but it would go just about anywhere you pointed it.

First Jeep was a 99 WJ, 4.Slow, 3:73 Gears w/ tow pkg, Selec-Trac transfer case, 2.5" OME lift. Bought it in 2007 with 50,000 miles on it.
Sold it with just about 60,000 miles on it in 2009. Shoulda kept it....

Loser. I had 1953 CJ-3A from 4 banger to 302, lockers, etc. Owned from 1969 to 2015. It was wheeled hard from Rubicon Trail in the 60's and 70's to all the Washington State trails. I sold it to a friend's son who did a frame off restoration. Will look for pictures. Also out wheeled a couple Land Cruisers. We might have winched each other a couple of times. They were always good friends.Mine was a Land Cruiser.
