I know this much but am still unclear as to where the 2.5 falls...can you hook a brother up?

EDIT: Think I discovered it...98-00? Is that correct?

Thanks!

Gen 1 - 82-91
Gen 2 - 91-99
Gen 2.5 - 98-00
Gen 3 - 99-06

This depends somewhat on what country you are in, but for US, it’s basically as follows:

Gen 1: not sure, through 1990
Gen 2: 91-97
Gen 2.5: 98-2000 (2000 is not quite the same, called Endeavor sometimes, and has no locker option)
Gen 3: 2001-2002
Gen 3.5: 2003-2006 (larger 3.8L motor)

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Japan is a year ahead so they got the Blister Fender (the official designation) starting in '97 AND in India and a few other countries ran until 2015 as the Pajero SFX. Stateside is '98-00.

If you are trying to get model 2.5, try your best not to get year 2000 since it doesn’t come with rear locker.

I have year 2000 and I love it, but I wish it comes with rear locker (which I didn’t know when I bought it)

Not the end of the world.

At the same time, the 2000 doesn't come with a locker which means you can get an ARB air locker for it without having to source an axle shaft. The ARB is stronger and will be serviceable longer.
