The Bronco Bronco

Okay, this project has been in the works for quite some time now. Trying our hardest not to leak this one out, but someone came along about a month ago and tried to blow its cover. Anyway, here it is. We have built lots of campers on Ford Broncos through the years, but this one is the ONLY BRONCO BRONCO!!!!

Here it is with just the custom paint and the camper.

Here it is getting the custom graphics, by "COLOGRAPHIC" If you ever need a REALLY great job done on custom graphics, COLOGRAPHIC is the ONLY place to go!

9 news was thinking about running a little feature story about the BRONCO BRONCO and they spent a lot of time filming the making of the Bronco Bronco, then the team went and LOST to the Ravens yesterday, so who knows what will come of the story, oh well. Anyway, this picture is me taking a picture of the reporter, taking a pic of the camera man, taking film of the BRONCO BRONCO. Pretty fun day over at COLOGRAPHIC for sure!

This is one of the coolest parts (I think). The back wall is a big flat lift panel, with a flip down 40" TV for outside tailgaters, but when Bronco Bronco is out on the road and the hatch is closed, there is some nice graphics of the new logo, the helmets over the years, and many of the famous players, coaches, owners, and special things associated with the Broncos!

Old school big D logo on the hood

The entire cab is Bronco's custom, done by "Mr Sid's Upholstery" in Northglenn Co.

We Carried over the theme into the Camper, with this custom couch, Automotive Painted metal cabinetry, and Custom etched aluminum flush mount cabinet doors.

This is the morning after finishing the Bronco Bronco. We (Cari and I) camped out in line for the tailgate party, so that we could be sure and get into the lot. You can see the ice on the windshield slowly melting off from the de-froster. It was about zero degrees that night, but we were pretty warm in the Bronco Bronco, with the fully insulated pop up liner, body, and Wave Three catalytic heater cranking.

Here we are hanging out with all the true Bronco fans out at the tailgate party before the Bronco's only playoff game this season.

And here's a vehicle even MORE Bronco customized than our Bronco Bronco.... very cool!!

Wow, not my bag with the fancy paint & graphics, but I love the camper on the Bronco with the pass thru. Have you ever done anything similar with a 1st gen 4Runner? Would love to see that. Unfortunately most people who drive 1st gens aren't doing high dollar modifications like custom pop ups:(

Some sort of lost...
I'm not a fan of the graphics either but the rest looks great. After having a VW van I really miss small campers with a pass through.
If I wasn't working on making a kid I think I would have built a 95-96 Bronco and worked up something similar.

Pretty cool, although it should be a Pittsburgh Steeler Bronco.

Rob, did you think about putting a Foxwing awning on that, or would it not work due to the rear "hatch?"?

Other teams available yes.

Thank you for all the great comments on the Bronco Bronco. It was fun to camp out in the night before the one game. It was about 2 degrees below outside that night, and we were quite comfortable inside!

Here are some more pictures of the custom hatch:

When it's down, it protects the TV, door, and everything else, plus it's a great place for the Denver Bronco players and helmets throughout the years...

Un-do two pad locks and give it a little pull, the gas props take over and raise it for you.

And in case you didn't get a look at the Bronco's interior, it's pretty special...

I thought about a foxwing. Those things are cool how they wrap around, but I did it a little different for a couple of reasons:

1. Couldn't find a bright orange and blue foxwing.

2. The hatch does pretty much provide about the same amount of coverage in the back as the foxwing would have, and that barely covers the television. So, I had a custom simple but HUGE awning made that IS bright orange and blue. Plus it goes WAY out beyond the hatch to the sides and the back, so people can sit under the custom awning and watch the "pre-game" show, out of the weather!

You can kind of see the big awning in this picture, it says GO BRONCOS! in blue color, but you can't see that very good in the picture.

Kistner Partners with Phoenix Pop Up Campers!

Former collegiate angler and founder of the Arizona State University Bass Fishing team, Mitch Kistner, will be partnering with Denver based company, Phoenix Pop Up Campers.

Kistner will be competing in the 2013 Bassmaster Central Opens with his lodging strapped to his truck. Having traveled thousands of miles to and from Arizona to the southern United States each season, Kistner knows the importance of comfortable and convenient accommodations while on the road.

"I am so excited to be partnering with Phoenix Pop Ups. Having a custom built pop up camper with all the amenities of home on the road with me, will give me one less thing to worry about while competing. I can simply pull over, grab a nap, and continue on to the event. Not to mention, it will save me hundreds of dollars each tournament in hotel costs alone," Kistner stated. "For months I have been communicating with Rob & Cari (the owners of Phoenix Pop Ups) and they have been extremely helpful. They have made the whole process effortless. Knowing that the people behind the company are such great people and share the same love of the outdoors as I do, truly makes this partnership special...and I will always have a lakeside view!" Kistner points out.

Cari Rowe, Co Owner of Phoenix Pop Ups, had this to say about the new relationship, " Rob and I are very excited to have partnered up with Bassmaster Open's angler Mitch Kistner! Mitch is the quintessential customer. He will be able to utilize his new "Home Away from Home" for relaxing and entertaining after long days of being out on the water doing what he enjoys! We are looking forward to a long relationship with Mitch and wish him luck this up coming tournament season!"

The 2013 Bassmaster Central Opens has stops in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Mississippi.

Phoenix Pop Up Campers is located in Commerce City, Colorado, just outside of Denver. They specialize in custom built, light weight pop up campers for many types of vehicles. Dry, the campers only weigh 1,000-1,500 lbs.
