A different kind of project for Phoenix....

So, we received a request to transform an empty trailer shell into a living space. Specifically, this is a high quality, new Cimarron horse trailer, designed specifically with an empty space to the front of the unit, and many people do turn this empty space into living quarters.

The space provided was about 7' wide and 10' long, but the 10' long has angles everywhere you look... no square corners to be found. Not on any walls, and not where the walls meet the roof anywhere. This one was much trickier than it first appeared to be.

Challenging as it was, the 6 weeks solid work this took, turned out to be very much worth it. We ended up with a very comfortable little rolling studio apartment, with many nice features:

*Wet bath with curved walls, cassette toilet, hot shower, vent and LED light.
*HUGE wrap around couch, with double tables that turn into a comfortable double bed.
*Big angle cabinet with 2 way refrigerator and complete power 110v and 12v power center
*Auto ignition water heater, 20 gallon water tank, and complete pressure demand water to kitchen and bath
*Three burner stove
*Microwave oven with power vent hood and light
*On board auxiliary deep cycle battery system
*LED lighting throughout
*20,000 btu automatic Suburban forced air furnace
*Lots and lots of general storage areas including a bank of drawers, wall table storage, and heavy duty wall hooks

Thank you for the compliment. Sorry for not clarifying exactly what this unit has in it, compared to the weight. This unit (in addition to all the extras I listed a above) has the full set of Phoenix P.U.L.S.E. equipment, and the tanks are full. PULSE features are:

Complete water system with tank, sink, and electric water pump.
Stove three burner.
Furnace
Propane tank and system.
Electric refrigerator.
Complete dinette seating area turns into extra bed.
Cabover bed with self lift under bed storage.
Screen door.
Front slider window.
LED lighting throughout.
Power converter.
Auxiliary battery system with deep cycle battery.

Yes. this is the liner we have been using for years. It is made for 4 season use... I believe you saw it when you and your wife came out to our facility.

I was wondering how it was applied to the trailer project, I guess I missed something. I remember that it looked like a very durable liner, perhaps I misread the post regarding the trailer. It's cool that your shop can take on such varied projects.

I was wondering if its possible to modify the driver side interior to have the sink plumbed at usual counter height to the left of the door, but in place of the fridge and stove have a shelf for a Kanz field kitchen (or similar chuck box with stove) with propane stove (connected to on board propane stored in usual place) and a National Luna fridge. If all of that could fit on the driver side I think it would be great for flexibility. Remove the Kanz and the fridge to a bear locker (eg in Yosemite) and to the truck (eg Dodge Power Wagon) when want to leave the camper in base camp. The front of the Kanz would need to fall flat to the floor or be removed but I wonder if that could work.

So today we said bye bye to a really cool little Custom Tacoma Pop up. Inside he asked for lots of extra windows in the pop up, extra window in the solid wall above the kitchen, extra short cabover for a better fit over the cab, extra long bed extension, extra high pop up for taller ceiling, extra window in the back, huge escape hatch in the roof, and some more little extras.... I like this customer's design, good size, good features, good truck!

This design sounds very interesting, do you have any more pictures? I am currently planning a camper and trailer for my new frontier pickup

I know how these posts sometimes come out can be in a random order, The liner we are talking about is on the custom camper on the Tacoma we posted prior to the trailer. Sorry for the confusion.. Sometimes we miss a question the first time though and go back and answer it after we have posted something else... So no the horse trailer does not have a pop up top...

All Travelers Worst Nightmare

For those of you who have been following this thread for a while, know we have some friends/customers who are on an adventure of a lifetime traveling from Wyoming throughout central and south America in their 97 Tacoma and a Phoenix Pop Up. This past weekend while in Peru they were attacked by a mob of villagers in a small village in Peru. Here is an account of the attack by the sister of Jed who was out to spend some time with them enjoying their travels.
