Whats your PSI When Your Fully Loaded?

Curious what you guys are running for pressure in your tires when fully loaded on paved and fire roads?

I got Load D rated 305 MTR's and wondering what others think is a proper PSI? They seem to have a decent "bulge" going on at 34pis and it kinda concerns me for wear.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I suggest you do a "chalk test" when fully loaded and see what the wear pattern is for your individual vehicle. Further, I suggest doing this when the tires are hot, and establishing the proper pressure while at the temperature they will be operating at. Record this, then let them cool and record that pressure as well. This way you know how much pressure you should have regardless of wether you are in the garage doing the pre-trip vehicle checks, or if you stop for gas in the middle of no-where and feel the need to check the pressure.

For those wondering what the "chalk test" is, you can use chalk or white shoe polish to indicate how much of the tread or sidewall is wearing against the road surface. Just draw a few wide swaths with the chalk or polish from the sidewall out to the treadblocks. Altering the pressure will cause different amounts of chalk to wear off, indicating to you where the rubber stops meeting the road.

Mine are D-rated and the old girl pushed around 6,100 lbs. when fully loaded. I run between 38 and 36 lbs, depending on the time of the year, maybe down to 34 on really rocky roads.
