WHEEL BALANCING BEADS

The problem with that link Andrew is that the only page that works is the "Dynamic Balancing Beads" page.
Me thinks that they are no longer in business... :(

beads

hey there
ran them yhe last 3 years on my fuso camper. wont use them again. jammed valve stems checking air pressure or airing down, don t seem to work as tires wear and you cant balance tires once there in there with weights without first cleaning all the beads out. this is all very notiiciable with the cabover configuration.
cheers lehel

You would think that water in the wheels or some other liquid would work also. Even better if the theory actually works would be to incorporate the beads in a special holder in the rims.

I have them in my 33's. I never bothered to remove the weights that were already mounted, maybe I should? Anyhow, at first they created a lot of vibration while slowing down in a curve, kinda freaked me out. Might have been caused by the humidity in the tires after re-inflating them. All this went away after a few days and its been good since. Tread wear seems nice and equal but can't give credit solely to the beads...

I often air down, so I simply ensure the valve is at noon and not at 6... Easy enough. Plus the company I bought from sent me valves with screens but I misplaced them :(

I won't bother with them again. I like the idea but next time I'll simply use coolant (the one that is safe for animals so no issue if I loose it in the outdoor) and with coolant it doesn't freeze on me!

Cheers

Have not had experience with these Centramatic Wheel Balancers but they address some of the issues written about here since they do not go inside the tire itself. "The product uses centrifugal force and deflection from rotation to automatically distribute free moving weights (Durametal and synthetic dampening fluid) sealed in the balancer". Hmmm http://www.mrtruck.net/centramatic.htm
edit: found this product too. Claims to be even better...uses fewer but larger spheres in viscous fluid. http://www.taabs-int.com/
