could anyone suggest a lightweight tire changing wheel chock for a tacoma? i don't need it to be snap-on quality, just acceptable for the occasional flat tire. thanks

Short chunk of 4x4 is hard to beat. Light, cheap, available in multiple species and treatments. Nobody steals it. Sadly, not very overland-y... but highly functional.

Have you looked at the price of lumber lately? Would be cheaper to use an equal size gold bar. . A couple foot long pieces of 4"x4"x1/2" aluminum angle stores away better. Contact a metal fab shop for scrap.

me my Parking brake holds very well and if not I'll use a piece of firewood or a nearby rock etc..

In that same vein, my Astro (and most other '90s/2000s GMs) came with a pair of stamped chocks which are very lightweight but offer good grip and resistance. I liked them so much I bought a 2nd pair from Ebay for ~$15, and now keep four in an easily-accessible spot in the rig:

I always just shut the truck off and leave it in gear, on anything tricky like a slope use 4LO.
