I'm doing dual batteries and the 2nd battery takes place of the air box. I figured instead of doing a intake setup like Eric's XJ I would just do a RHD snorkel..anyone know where to get one?

While it might not make a difference, you don't necessarily need one for a RHD model, just one equipped with a diesel which was a rather rare thing in itself here in the US. You might have to look into ordering one from Australia or buying one on Ebay.

I'm curious, how are you mounting the second battery? I've considered doing something similar, but running my intake like Eric's XJ. I've thought about just picking up a diesel model battery tray, assuming it should just bolt on.

Not sure you would need one either... The one I got off of Fleabay could be rerouted perhaps to just clear the second battery. The "kit" has you tying the snorkel to the factory air box via a flex hose. I think the design is crap so I plan on just running the flex hose straight to the TB. I'll probably use one of those in line air filters...can't remember the company that makes them off hand. But I'd think with yours being an early XJ, depending on where your washer fluid bottle is, you may be ok with a lefty.

Theres a few "kits" online. I plan to replicate one of those..basically a custom battery box.
Heres a pic of Dirtbounds offroad rig. You can see theres physically not enough space for a filter to be set in there. I know the snorkels hook up to the intake box via a flex pipe but I physically can't see the space to fit it all. I've tryed with using my current battery & theres not enough space for the air box o& battery. I'm doing a "windstar" intake box, so its still sealed from dust/water vs an open filter & can easily be attached to the snorkel.
Windstar intake on a tj..I'll have this

More or less I wanted to have it cross the head to the passenger side & go out the passenger side fender. But I'd have to find a RHD or diesel snorkel.

Yeah... I think even the chinese knock offs are mostly left handed ones. Theres a guy from china on Cherokee forums (jeeptian or something like that) that is a vendor for the knock offs. You could try and ask him?
But the Spectre filter seems well made, uses a replaceable filter, and comes in bigger sizes if needed. That 4" one seems about right for me.

He said RHD versions a no go :( hell I can't even find a "shop" or offload place that can get them...I think it'll really complete my build/look and make it different than most others...if only I could find one!

You could always build your own, good ole exhaust piping with some bends, have it welded together once you get the layout, viola, done deal.

Find an off-road store in the Australia or the UK that is willing to ship to the US.

ARB USA might even be willing to bring in the RHD version for you if you talk to the right people.

That's who I'm trying currently...and not in a rude way but I think the PVC or exhaust pipe snorkels look like garbage..I was gonna just put a hummer topper/m35a2 intake topper out the cowl on the passenger side, basically a hummer intake. If I can't find a RHD snorkel then that's what I'll end up doing probably.

I feel ya. As a last resort though.

How were you just going to connect the intake topper? That's the mushroom, right?

"If" I did the hummer setup then I would copy the to TJ which ran their intake into the cowl...so from there drill the appropriate sized hole and conector the air box & top with a peice of flex pipe.
Basically the same way as a snorkel just no actual snorkel.
