Where to Find a Series III or a early 90?

I am planning to sell my 2007 Jeep wrangler later this summer. At that time I want to really get into looking for a Series III or early 90. RHD is ok but man LHD would be nice! Dose anyone have any good sources to look into. I have look on Red Mounting Rovers, Skytop Rovers and the Land Rover Ranch. And have seen a couple I like in my range, but all in all I’m really not seeing that much out there. Where do people go to find a Rover and not get burned!

Thanks

Biggs

I can recomend Dale (Rovertrader). He has a great network of sources and contacts and is a stand up guy. I'm about to get my third from him and haven't had a bad experiance with any of them.

Good luck. It is an addiction. I started with a Series and 2 years later bought the D90 - the 90 is my daily driver now.

Early 90's that are importable (84,85,86 models) aren't plentifull. Production numbers weren't very high. Land Rover was building Series 3's up until 1986 to fulfill a contract with the Ministry of Defense. So if you are limited to looking stateside pickings will be quite slim. The best trucks are usually listed for sale here http://www.d-90.com/
if you decide to import one I'm your man.

Thanks for the kind words Matt, and hope to see you this afternoon:)
Doug is absolutely your importer, and if you can tolerate rhd you will get a lot more truck for your money. They are not for everyone though....

There were Land Rovers serving in the British Army of the Rhine, mostly LHD, that are now legal to import. The one I bought from Blanchard had no rust, but the body was beat up pretty good having been to Bosnia in 1995. I had them refurbish it, they can hang new panels on it and make it look nice for you for a lot less than you can get it done here.

The ex-MOD trucks have manual steering, basic seating, 2.5 NA diesels with 68 horsepower and a very noisy top speed of about 60-65 mph. If you're cool with that, then I'd recommend it.
