:sombrero: Heh Heh, I don't think you've ever seen the bracket and how it attaches

But it could fail, in a front end collision !!

Awww.

Come On. 6 to one... A half-dozen to another.... I'm just having some fun.
Maybe, a little banter would do this Forum some good. Some REAL Fabrication and Design discussions, anyone?

:wings: Don't worry blueeyes, That was my fault, cause I just dropped the conversation-I had an emergency intruder

I don't favor the way the other "build" has his compressor mtd. because !!

It restricts radiator air flow (further), hampers oil filter change, places the compressor to close to water/mud/snow intrusion and puts the attachments to close to 'ROTATING MASS"

The sys I'm using has the comp. mtd high, uses a powdercoated 3/16 steel bkt, mtd betwwen the brake fluid reservoir and the booster, uses self-locking nuts and hasn't loosened in 6 months

It's not hard piped, so you do have to open the hood to use it, Thats a minor inconvenience, because whenever I do that I can check the depth of my fuel rods and the operation of the valve position indicators (VPI)-Heh Heh

Good day in the morning

Personally I like both mounting plates. It really boils down too what compressor you want mounted. The ARB compressors are pretty compact and can be mounted in several locations on the JK. The bracket that attaches to the brake master cylinder happens to make for a nice easy clean installation. This bracket will also work for the viair 4X0 compressors. However, if you want to mount a larger compressor like an ExtremeAire, Puma, or the really big viairs, the new bracket from pjs is pretty sweet!! It puts it in unused space and keeps it out of the cabin.

Resurrection Alert!

I just ordered a mounting plate from PJ's. I too am concerned about water getting into the comp. Anyone with ideas or experiences with a fix/work-around?

blueeyeddevil,

Did you ever fashion an intake for the compressor? If so, how about some details.

The ARB let's you just use some tubing to relocate the air inlet wherever you want. However, it does say not to use the intake box due to the vacuum that it creates.

How much was the plate and do they have any more in stock? Contact info?

Not cheap! $175. But worth it to me. It didn't sound like it's a stock item -- didn't find it on their web site. They told me it would take about a week to make it for me.

Edit: Removed contact info (Not sure if that's allowed here -- have to read the rules. Sorry.)
PM'ed keithro with info.

lol.....While I'm still pretty new here, I'm fairly sure that the rabid censorship that might be found on some other sites (JK related perhaps?:hehe:) is not alive and well here.... :friday:
