F451 - I had a 2011 F250 and had a Carli leveling kit put on and fell in love with the ride. I also had the famous radiator problem, sure wish I didn't but it was the only issue I ever had with the truck.

Right on Js. I'm not as concerned with the ride on the F250 as much as the bed is too small and on top of that its not ideal for putting a camper on the back. I really needed a F350 dually, just didn't know it at the time. :) At this point with just one more year or so of horse ownership to go (I'm praying), I'm thinking its probably best to just keep what I have and live with the short comings (which are of my own doing I realize, the truck is fine for what it is, its just not idea for what we're using it for).

i have a 4.6 baby v8. i like the fuel economy. though it'd be nicer with 3.73 or 4.10 gears, the 3.55's make it like 2200rpm at 75mph.

its also a half ton, and a light duty rig. it won't get 4x4, a high top, pop top, on board water, rear ac, roof rack or otherwise, just something to use as a "steel tent" and to haul my moto. will end up insulated, with a simple bed that folds into a bench.

Been driving my '07 Econoline 4x4 with the v10 and 4.56 gears for 8 years now. Absolutely problem free. Mileage remains steady at 12 mpg no matter how I drive. For those complaining about this being a noisy engine - are you missing the doghouse insulation? Yes, I can hear the engine pitch change when it shifts down but it's barely noticeable.

7.3L PSD, weighed in at 10,000 almost on the dot fully wet with the bike. I get about 16 mph average. Does better in the mountains actually. I spent the winter in SLC and Dillon, CO. Never had an issue with the cold and I was in some cold *** stuff.

I really appreciated all the stories here. Sounds like I would be good with either a V-10 or the 7.3. Now to just find one... That seems to be harder than expected.

Some sort of lost...
Yep and the low mileage v10s seem to sell the same day the ads post. Anyone successfully use an f150 5.4 supercharger with minimal fab?

Mgmetalworks, want yet another project!?!? Lol

Rented a 2wd 5.4 sportsmobile with weekend. It works. Got there and back, but could sure be better.

California spec van. The glow plugs are electronically controlled. Different injectors. It did get 22 mpg easily in 2wd form. Now the best it will get is 18.

I had an 05 e350 6.0 quigley completely stock. Factory quigley gearing and tires. Got on average (highway/city/Offroad)16.8mpg hand calculated. Never had an issue with the van at all up until 110k miles when I sold it. New owner has had no problems at all either. Constant oil changes/coolant flushes and basic maintenance. All stock and it ran like a champ. Sold it to buy a new rig (4wd class c) but a new 2014 e350 5.4 quigley with 1,700 miles fell in my lap and I had to take it. Now have ~7k miles stock 3.73 gearing with 295/75/18 tires and get at best 14mpg at 6,900lbs as it sits now. On average I have been consistently in the 12+ mpg and at worst was around 10mpg after a drive to the beach, long day in 4x4 and drive home. Love the v8 so far I don't tow anything and my rig doesn't carry much weight besides a queen futon bed and a few fishing poles/camping gear.
