which newer full size 1/2 ton is the best overland platform

We had to borrow my wife’s friend’s XL when we couldn’t get a loaner from Audi in Reno. What a pain in the ass it was to get our boys in and out all day long. We ended up putting the 4yr old in first to climb around and unlock all the doors.

And my wife’s friend was super happy about finding a pristine XL that didn’t have power anything, I don’t get it. We have a ‘96 with 350k and the power windows work fine, everything else is pretty tired but the electronics haven’t quit. The power window and radio delay module is pretty flaky on my ‘02 - wish that feature hadn’t been added, looks like a ********** to change. But I would hate to crank all the windows by hand for 17 years just in case

Meh. You can get a fancy truck dirty. My brother's King Ranch F350 had been buried so deep in the mid you couldn't hardly open the doors. The seat massager still works great ?

All the 1/2 tons are good. 3/4s are to heavy in my opinion.

Was doing my bi-annual cleaning the other day, and was thinking this would be a heck of a lot easier if I could just hose it out like I used to do with our old work trucks. I really hate cleaning...

Can't hose out. There's sound deadening recycled carpet under the rubber floor. And you'll rinse all the dirt around the door gaps, it gets under the rubber, then it stinks.

Vacuum out. Then wipe down with a gentle spray cleaner. "No Touch" tire shine is the best stuff in the past for rubber floors. But test such things somewhere. Rubber floors are not engine oil resistant. They'll warp, melt, stink, and crack if that type of oil gets on them.

Had truck bed liner on the floor on my old F250 so you could hose it out.

Bi annual cleaning? Real trucks never get cleaned...

The dirt / grime just acts as a protective layer.... lol

It was getting bad, was to the point where my wife didn't want to wear light colored pants. Or be in it at all..."hun, I was going to move your truck, but can you do it...'cause I don't want to get dirty..."

One of the reasons I broke down and bought seat covers. :D It is all sparkly clean now, even bought new floor mats.

I have the 2.7 EcoBoost in my truck and the 5.0 in my work truck, and I had the 3.5 EcoBoost in my previous work truck.

I say go for either EcoBoost motor. While the 5.0 is a great motor (especially with the 10 speed) the EcoBoosts low end grunt is amazing. If you tow they easily out preform the 5.0.

And if you ever feel the need to get more HP they are ridiculously easy to get more HP pit of
