I took my seats out the first week i had mine, for my dog mostly, and i recently made a very simple platform to replace the space with a flat area with storage underneath. I also use it to sleep on when out and about.

Room for secure tool storage or camping gear. There is room for me to sleep comfy and stretched out, but I need to devise an 8" minimum extension for 2 to sleep comfortably.

Nice way to make an entrance!
That is similar to what I would like to build. Do you have any pictures of it in the Jeep?
Really nice work. And looks light enough to move in and out as you want.

That came out awesome!
How deep are the drawers?
Definitely like the aluminum construction.
I made an aluminum drawer by making the drawer frame from angle, and then using adhesive, rivets and screws to hold it all together. 34"wx48"dx9.5" tall. It's strong enough for me to stand in, and much lighter than the wood I was planning to use. It was also a lot cheaper than having the box bent at a fab shop.
Will probably use the same construction techniques on this project.

Bolt Lock company makes box latches that key to the ignition switch. So that "one key does all".

I like all the different versions , they all have a lot of innovation and effort in them , and they work ! Thanks for sharing the pics

36" slides, so the inside dimensions are 36 wide, 34.5 deep by 10" high. I have a cut out to access the stock storage compartment and one so I can slide my gun cases in and have them out of sight and secured.
Unfortunately, the Bolt Locks are oriented 90°, makes them not fit in my cut outs. Not sure if the barrel locks are the
Same size either.

While trying to maximize space, I have recently taken out the 40% section of the rear seat in my JKU. I have to keep the 60% section in....I have two small children who fit in this area perfectly. I'm taking things step by step for the time being....I have just installed the AT rear cargo rack and just got in my National Luna Weekender Split Fridge and locking base plate. I'm waiting for the combo slide and custom Partner Stove....will be in next week. I'll share that stuff later.

In the interest of this thread, I thought I would share my simple solution for mounting my National Luna Powerpack with Die Hard Platinum Battery (Group 31). It fits perfectly in the foot-well behind the driver's seat and a simple use of existing seat bolts have it locked into place. So far, I like where it's headed....no dead space and it's positioned perfectly to power the fridge, etc.

I built this out of slot angle iron, treated plywood and other small details that you can buy at almost any hardware store, i got mine at lowes and this whole setup was $350. It is very light, i can pick it up by myself but cant move it around because of the awkward shape. Its also very sturdy..my 200lb friend jumped up and down several times on it to test it. (the seats pictured are in the most upright forward position but can lean back comfortably)

storage area carpet or no?

when you guys took the rear seats out did you remove the carpet? I saw on this site where the carpet was removed and a form fitted storage box used so that the it could store water and the drain holes would be functional if anything leaked. I was thinking of just using wood and maybe some aluminum and taking the carpet our and then using foam floor mats like for a gym or play area to line the bottom with , I was also wondering about weather the wood squeaked when the jeep flexed over rough terrain. I am considering building side panels as well above the wheel wells and raising the floor just slightly maybe 3 inches to store longer items like a rifle fishing rod and compartizing(?) some it to hold tools. Has anyone done anything like that?
