Why you should buy AEV Bumpers

I wouldn't believe it if it had not happened to us. . .

Although AEV makes great bumpers, it's probably more the fact that aftermarket bumpers are made from solid steel palte verses plastic, styrofoam, chromed pot metal.... Add the fact that most Jeeps sit taller than the average stock car, the bumpers tend to not be lined up.

I have red rock fab bumpers front and rear (rear has a tire carrier), in dec 2009 I was stopped at a red light when a Suburban decided to change lanes in the snow and realized a little too late that he couldn't stop. Slammed into me hard enough to push me into the intersection. No damage for me, he had his chrome push bar pushed back into the hood and grill crumpling the hood and puncturing his radiator.

3 months later I was stopped in traffic in a 45 mph zone with a new tundra quad cab stopped behind me. Well, the dodge 2500 4x4 dually never stopped.
It was a really hard hit, the tundra was bent into a "v" shape barely allowing the driver to open the door. The dodge front end was pushed a good foot back into the engine compartment. My jeep had a scratch on the power tank (I keep my powertank mounted on the spare tire), and a scratch on the tailgate where the tire carrier had tapped the mount plate for the stock spare. It didn't even chip the paint, only an imprint left on the plate.

Steel bumpers give you a lot of protection from body damage and I highly recommend a tire carrier to get the tire off the tailgate for best protection.
