Looks a lot like the EdgeStar. Any difference to your knowledge?

(For what it's worth, I love my EdgeStar and totally recommend it to everyone.)

the voltage listed above is 12v-2.5 amp. My Edgestar is 24v-2.5a / 12v-4.5a. this fridge looks identical to my Edgestar. Is this really 12 volt 2.5 amp draw? the mfg plate on back would tell for sure.

thanks for checking ...

The EdgeStar is a private label made by Whynter, so this is indeed the same fridge, but with different badging.

LOL Clay... Seems like everything is coming out of China, if it came from the USA it would be a $2k+ fridge.

Currently Bobby has our test fridge, I will see if he can post up a picture of it for ya!

Here you go, fellas... some pictures that should answer a couple questions that have been brought up, including the one that need-not-be-asked... :smilies27 I haven't had it long enough to conjure up any concrete, original opinions, so I'll let the images do the work for now.

Yes they are the same... Whynter produces the EdgeStar for Compactappliance.com / Livingdirect.com; which owns and operates their private label Edgestar products. These fridges are identical in all respects save the private label.

well then, they will be/are a great fridge. the only reason these are cheaper is because they havent upgraded and changed the style over the years,, i mean where the other guys are running the latest in plastic bodies and and maybe a bit more efficient system these are basically like the norcolds from a decade ago. i dont have a problem with that.

Hey is that a drain plug in the bottom? Really wish my ARB freezer fridge had that on our last trip out

The drain plug is amazing. I once had a beer freeze and explode, and another time I had a a tub of salsa overturn and spill... Cleaning? Too easy.

Plus, at the end of each trip, I simply rinse it out with a tub of slightly-bleached hot water, then air dry to prevent any mildew.

This fridge is a winner. Check my build thread for a full review.
