Will the Honda/Nissan Possible Merger Save the Frontier and/or Titan?

Bring back the Xterra and dump the CVT and they would be on a much better path. Time will tell.
I think they should bring back the Xterra, but I don't think any of the vehicles that people would be talking about on here ever had CVTs, did they? All of the Frontier/Titan/Armada currently have 9 speed automatics. I don't think any of them ever had the CVT (though I believe the crossoverified Pathfinder did during at least one generation).

I was saying more in general, Nissan should dump the CVT in the entire line. My S-I-L has a Toyota Corolla with CVT and I cannot stand driving it. I won't own anything with a CVT.

As for the Xterra, they need to bring something back that will compete with the 4Runner but not at 4Runner pricing. It also need to not be some watered down softroader. We don't need anymore RAV4 type vehicles in the market.

Because it’s the Chrysler of Japan.
Having a JKU, Ram, and a Frontier, this is a pretty unfair statement to Nissan.
Stellantis build quality is pretty abysmal, as is their willingness to tackle long-running parts and design defects.

The Nissan trucks are pretty solid, though I don't think I'd want anything to do with one of their sedans or jelly bean crossovers. There is a lot more domestic competition now but during the run of the last gen Frontier I wouldn't take any domestic midsize over the Nissan. Jury might be out on the new .. what is it, 3.8L? But there isn't any reason to think it should be an inherently crap engine.

As an admission though I love the simply plasticky interiors. If I could I would buy another new 2nd gen Frontier.

I believe the Murano was one of their first cvts. I also vaguely remember them being discouraged from use on the mount Washington auto road because of it. They were asked to park and offered a free ride up.
I had Subaru s first cvt and was pleased with it.

I may have lost in translation what I meant. Japanese quality is better, but it’s 3rd place in the list of Japanese for quality. I like the new frontiers, think they will last longer than a domestic truck.

Wait, did not he actually save Nissan?
or am I wrong?
The ex Nissan head/embezzler with houses all over the world who was under investigation in 3 countries and hired an American father and son extraction team to literally ship him out of Japan in a crate to avoid justice after having been arrested numerous times, but the upcoming time didnt look good...
