I am not a fan of hitch mount winches.
Allot of force and stress can created when you use a winch. Hitches usually are rated far less than the forces created by winching.
Winches are heavy. Having to move one around and then having to mount it in the condition you are stuck in could be a problem and maybe dangerous. Having to lug an 80-100lb winch and cradle up an incline steep enough to be stuck on could be a PIA. Lugging it tough mud or other conditions you could be stuck may be difficult or dangerous.
Having a winch sit out like they do with this type of mount will reduce your approach or departure angel.
