Is that warn remote Chinese too? Is it universal? And I'm not talking about the connector being universal as I don't care about "plug-and-play" since I can cut wires and solder them easily. I assume, like any of them, that you can wire it to supply current to each solenoid; one for out, and one for in, with a power supply wire that goes to 12v or 24v positive.?

To the other poster, Lodar remotes are used professionally by crane and towing companies and they have been around for many, many years. They are coded so interference is almost impossible, even if somehow there were a bunch of guys using the same remote you had within 100 feet. The one I had would respond super fast and I could inch in and out pretty well. It was completely sealed too.

Yes, our wireless is made in China, but it is not a private-label item. It was designed in-house by our engineers, has underwent tons of testing, and is a very high-quality product. It is not universal, however. I'm not trying to sound like a shill here; just wanted to throw our option into the mix.

So are there cross over frequecies that would allow some one elses winch controller to take over your winch.

I've got one of the Warn wireless setups that I bought then, after looking at mounting options (read I took it out of the package), I decided not to use (it's never been plugged in or used in any way). If you are interested in it let me know and I'll make you a good deal. It appears well made and I have several friends who love them, I just don't think I need it.

I have been running a WARN remote on both my Power Wagon and Yamaha Rhino for several years. I have never had any problems at all. These have gotten extensive, repeated, hard use. I have always carried a spare "Stock, corded" remote, of course, just in case. I quality wireless remote is a serious tool for forestry work. I can' t tell you how many times it has saved my bacon, OR simply made my life a lot easier.

I always run all three. Factory control. Toggle switch in cab, and wireless. The winch also has a huge push cutoff switch made for very high amperage. I've used the wireless more than I expected.

me too.
The wireless remotes can run on a bit but it is never a problem if you are exercising good winch safety. The wireless remote enables another person to operate the winch from a position of better visibility than the drivers position often allows. For example the other night I recovered a Mitsubishi L200 from below a steep bank, and I couldnt even see him, so my son controlled the winch from a remote position where he could see both vehicles.
I also use the in cab set up I have, I have never ever used the wired remote.
