Wiring Blue Sea OLED Ammeter - a question

Hello,

Id like to wire this ammeter https://www.bluesea.com/products/1732/Mini_OLED_Ammeter
to monitor my battery usage (system is a simple single battery set-up I just want to see how much juice my electronics are using). These are the instructions from BSM: http://assets.bluesea.com/files/resources/instructions/980022970.pdf

Question:

Would I follow the "Monitor House Loads" or the "Monitor System Amperage" diagram? If I follow the Monitor House Loads diagram, can I attach the positive line of the ammeter (the 2 amp fused line) directly to the load terminal of the shunt? Im sure these are dumb questions, I just want to make sure as I have never wired an ammeter before.

Thank you in advance,

Jose

Monitor house loads will only show what is going out of the battery.

Monitor system amperage will show what is going in, or what is going out, of the battery.

If charging (engine running), monitor system amperage will show what is flowing in to the battery.

If the engine is off and there is no charging, monitor system amperage will only show what is going out of the battery.

So use monitor system voltage - it does both jobs.

Doesn't matter where you connect that positive to power the meter. You might consider putting a switch in that circuit so the meter isn't lit up 24/7/365.
