Wok Stand for Coleman dual fuel burner

Wanting to add a wok to my camping setup. I've looked at Tembo-tusk, discadia, but neither work with the Coleman dual fuel single burner, and it would be nice to have the wok separate from the stand anyway.

There's probably going to be some DIY involved, but I'm hoping there is a product out there that can get me at least 80% of the way there.

I'm imaging something simple with a steel ring to rest the wok in, a platform below it to sit the burner on, and ~3 ft of folding or telescoping legs.

Any ideas?

I'd make it fully myself, but without a welder I think it would be hard to pull off.

What about this DIY idea...

Connecting rods for the legs (24" + 12") : https://www.mcmaster.com/#connecting-rods/=1d3h9t2
Wok platform: square aluminum sheet, frame in aluminum angle, cut out center circle
Burner platform: use cut out circle, add clamps to legs, have the aluminum disk rest on that
Leg mounts: Threaded rod offset mounts, bent to make a tripod-ish arrangement: https://www.mcmaster.com/#threaded-rod-mounting-plates/=1d3hbfw

Better (?) leg mount idea: rod end bolts attach to connecting rods https://www.mcmaster.com/#rod-ends/=1d3hbyu
But I can't find the mount for the rod end bolts... what are they called? I'm thinking of a bracket that the rod end bolt could swivel on, and secure with threaded knob or bolt. I suppose two angle brackets could work

I'm going to attempt this 100% DIY

I found a better idea for the legs: extension poles https://www.mcmaster.com/#78005t41/=1d3qera

Wonder if they are heat rated...

Still figuring out the best way to suspend the burner below, and attaching the legs..

For the burner, what about a sheet of aluminum suspended by wire rope? It would fold flat nicely, but is it too flimsy?

Another idea... a tri-fold aluminum sheet with piano hinges. The sides fold out, and attach to the underside of the wok mount somehow (conveniently)

Any more ideas out there? The extension poles could work, but they use an irregular 3/4"-5 ACME thread which would be difficult to work with

No... want it at least waist high

I have a plan in mind. I ordered a tripod with removable legs, going to use aluminum u-channel and a threaded knob to fit the tripod legs to the table, and then probably have a platform suspended below the wok by wire rope and hooks.

The project is coming along pretty well

I found a tripod on amazon that looked like it dissembled easily with good attachment points. Had to buy two of course... $35 each

Tomorrow going to tap the u-channel so the tripod legs fit in with a thumb knob. Lastly, still need to figure out how to hang the burner below. Thinking I'll try an aluminum plate suspended by wire rope. Not ideal, but it's all I can think of so far

All-in, including the wok ($45), cost is around $140

Is there something I am missing? The southwest discada is exactly what you described that you want....

I use a Skottle but if you want the wok separate... That IS the southwest discada...

Yes. Discada burner is propane, and won't fit the coleman dual fuel. I already have a dual fuel setup (lantern, stove), so it would be silly to add propane

Done!

Turned out well. Packs up compact, weighs just a couple pounds (all aluminum), and it's fun to make your own gear once in a while.

Didn't realize the underneath platform would end up so close to the top... so I can probably swap the wire rope and turnbuckles out for a set of longer hook-to-hook turnbuckles
