Would this be a good start?

I think for $500...you could do alot better..or offer that guy $200-$250

Not much detail, but it looks a little too "homemade"

Good luck,Pat

Free is not a bad price for that thing, but it looks shaky and not up to the great outdoors.
Look at the snowbear trailers, I have a 101 cdn under a build right now but a couple or three years ago I bought a 4x8 snowbear and put a 3500 axle on it with Toy hubs, stock springs and a heavier drawbar and that thing has been to hell and back and is still in awesome shape. Very light strong where it needs to be and can carry tons of gear, awesome trailer.
33x 12.5 bfg muds aired down to 5 psi (thats the suspension:))

So good in fact the m101 is on the slow burner:)

Okay, thanks you guys. I might consider it if my dad falls in love with it and decides to pay for it and helps fund a rebuild. But, I doubt that.

Some of the older boat trailers are nice. I had one for an old 14' Lund rowboat that was pretty stout. With a bit of customization, it could have been quite nice...but it got sold with the boat. Many of the newer ones, especially those that bolt together, are not so nice.

What kind of "expedition" use are you envisioning? Something to sleep in? Sleep on? Store stuff in?

Where in mid-MI are you located?
